Levy Update
The final levy count for both the EP&O (Educational Programs & Operations) and the Safety, Security, and Technology levies will be certified later today. Once we know the final results of these levies, we can determine next steps. As you likely know, levies significantly impact our ability to provide a high-quality education and support services to our students and we thank each of you for your support in these efforts. We will continue to be fiscally responsible, understanding that depending on the outcomes of these levies will determine how we may need to proceed. I will be sure to provide you with updates as we know more.
Actualización de impuestos
El recuento final de impuestos tanto para EP&O (Programas y operaciones educativos) como para impuestos de seguridad, protección y tecnología se certificará más tarde hoy. Una vez que conozcamos los resultados finales de estos impuestos, podremos determinar los próximos pasos. Como probablemente sepa, los impuestos afectan significativamente nuestra capacidad de brindar educación de alta calidad y servicios de apoyo a nuestros estudiantes y agradecemos a cada uno de ustedes por su apoyo en estos esfuerzos. Seguiremos siendo fiscalmente responsables, entendiendo que dependiendo de los resultados de estos impuestos determinaremos cómo tendremos que proceder. On February 13, 2024 the voters of Mount Vernon School District will be asked to vote on a 4-year Education Programs & Operations levy and Tech/Safety & Security Levy Replacements. These levies supports critical day-to-day operations of the district and provides students access to the technology, programs, and staffing they need to succeed.
It's important to note that the February levies are a replacements of expiring levies that were initially approved in February 2021. They do not introduce new levies but rather maintain the existing tax rate. They ensure continued access to the funding that supports every Mount Vernon School District student.

El 13 de febrero de 2024, se pedirá a los votantes del Distrito Escolar de Mount Vernon que aprueben un impuesto de operaciones y programas educativos de 4 años y reemplazos del impuesto de tecnología/seguridad. Estos impuestos apoyan las operaciones críticas del día a día del distrito y brindan a los estudiantes acceso a la tecnología, los programas y el personal que necesitan para tener éxito.
Es importante tener en cuenta que los impuestos de febrero son una renovación de los impuestos vencidos que se aprobaron inicialmente en febrero 2021. No introducen nuevos impuestos, sino que mantienen la tasa impositiva existente. Garantizan el acceso continuo a los fondos que apoyan a todos los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar de Mount Vernon.
